We are able to provide tuition on a wide variety of instruments* through our team of specialist peripatetic teachers. The cost of tuition is met by parents, together with the cost of music and accessories (i.e. strings, reeds etc.). The loan of an instrument may be possible and for this we make a nominal charge to cover the cost of repair and upkeep of our instrumental stock.
This provision is very popular with over 250 instrumental/vocal lessons taking place every week. Pupils are given the opportunity to enter music examinations when a pupil, teacher and parent agree it is the right time. We work in collaboration with Whitley Bay High School to provide two exam centres per year, one in the spring term and another in the summer. In addition to this, we enter pupils for exams at public centres. Our exam results are shared in our termly Newsletters.

School Instruments
The school is usually able to offer the loan of an instrument for an annual fee of £20. If all our instruments are on loan, we will put your child’s name on our waiting list or alternatively you can make your own arrangements. Where school instruments, i.e. keyboard, piano, guitar and drums are used in lessons a charge of £5 per year will be required to cover the repair and maintenance.
